I am that person meme

Dear students,

Remember when I got you to write the "I am that girl/boy" exercise in your journals? It was actually an idea I got from a few personal blogs here and there. Here are some samples I would like you to read, that I got from these personal blogs.

"I am the girl who love animals yet eats meat. I am the girl who love trees yet uses paper. I am the girl who loves the rain yet uses an umbrella."

"I am the child that lingered behind after church on friday afternoons, wanting to see if god came down to accept the donations. I am the child who passed by 'toyland' and glanced longingly at the puppy doll in the corner. I am that same girl who cried when it dissappeared."

"I am the girl who is a crybaby and goes to bed each night hoping that tomorrow would be a better day."

"I'm that quiet guy that leaves his room door open, in the hope that someone will stop and talk to him. I'm that guy who replies "I donno" with a smile when asked how it's going. No one figures that it means I'm down."

"I'm that shy little boy, who followed the popular kids around from a distance so that I might learn their secrets and be popular too."

"I was the girl who tried hard not to care what other people thought, but the tears made it obvious that I failed."

"I was the student that was much liked by teachers and this never sat too well with my school mates"

"I'm the girl who forgives but never forgets, and once you hurt her so badly, the trust is broken and can never again be retrieved."

Who are you?

Here's one from me:

"I am the girl whom you called an emotional weakling because I cried when a caged kitten reached out to me. I'm the girl you called obssessed when I wrote letters endlessly to authorities about animal rights and human irrationality."

Do contribute if you would like to.

These are some links to articles on the French Revolution (which I told you about last Wed):

  • The Guillotine

  • Marie Antoinette

  • The French Revolution

  • Interesting Story

  • I'll reward a star to groups who can tell me what the very famous misquotation that that Marie Antoinette said was. (Tell me when I return to school on Thursday)

*mis-quotation - a well-known phrase attributed to someone who, in fact, did not say it.

    Dear Students,

I've got a rather serious eye infection and will return on Thursday. In the meantime, I would like all of you to make sure that you've got your blood group type verified by then. Also, bring your diagnostic test with you - we'll go through the comprehension OE on Thursday so you can complete your corrections.

    Missing all of you,
    Miss Dawn Lam
